The A/C and main heat source in The Forest Apartment is supplied by our home’s central heating system. While it is very effective at heating and cooling, the system only has one thermostat for the entire home, which means the Forest Apartment does not have it’s own thermostat to control the temperature. We keep the system set at 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celsius), which provides a comfortable room temperature for most guests. The Forest Apartment also includes three separate electric fireplaces which guests can use to raise the temperature above 70 degrees if they prefer a warmer temperature, while also providing a cozy atmosphere. Guests can also close the ducts that supply A/C to the Forest Apartment during the summer months if they prefer a warmer temperature.

Our apartment is conveniently located for exploring Seattle and its surroundings. You have several options for transportation, depending on your preferences and budget. Here are some of them:
– Walking: Our apartment is located in a safe and walkable neighborhood, where you can enjoy a friendly atmosphere and lush greenery. You can walk down the street to Ravenna Park, where you can find trails, picnic areas, and a playground. You can also walk to the nearby University Village, where you can shop, dine, and relax. If you are feeling adventurous, you can walk to the University of Washington, where you can see the cherry blossoms in spring or the Husky Stadium in fall.
– Light rail: The closest light rail station to our apartment is Roosevelt, which is less than a mile away. However, you can also choose from two other nearby stations: University of Washington and University District. All three stations are part of the Link light rail system, which can take you to downtown Seattle, Capitol Hill, and other destinations in less than 20 minutes; or Seatac airport in 45 minutes. The University of Washington station is on the southeast side of campus, near Husky Stadium and UW Medical Center – Montlake. The University District station is on the northwest side, near the UW Tower and the Burke Museum. You can walk, bike, or take a bus to any of these stations from our apartment.
– Bus: Several bus lines stop two blocks away from our apartment, on 60th Street and 25th Avenue. You can use the bus to get to other parts of the city, such as Green Lake, Ballard, Fremont, and Queen Anne. You can also take the bus to the University District, where you can check out the weekly farmers market, or visit the Burke Museum.
– Rideshare: Uber, Lyft, and Lime Bikes are all easy to find in the area. You can use these services to get around quickly and easily, especially if you are traveling in a group or with luggage.
– Car: If you bring a car, you will be happy to know that we have plenty of free street parking available at all times. This is a rare commodity in Seattle, where parking can be expensive and scarce. You can use your car to drive to other parts of the city or the region, such as the Chihuly Garden and Glass, the Museum of Flight, or the Woodland Park Zoo. You can also use your car to take a day trip to the nearby mountains, lakes, or San Jaun Islands, where you can enjoy the stunning scenery and nature that Washington State has to offer.
We hope this helps you plan your trip and make the most of your stay in Seattle!
